Registration for 2017 Fall Recruitment is now OPEN!

Registration for formal recruitment 2017 opens on May 15 at 9 AM CST and close at midnight CST on July 15.  

Late registrations are NOT accepted and NO EXCEPTIONS or EXTENSIONS will be granted. 

Fall Recruitment will take place Sunday, August 13 through Saturday, August 19. All women participating are expected to attend the Greek Life Orientation with their recruitment guide group. For further details log on to http://www.unl.edu/greek 

 It is highly recommended that you thoroughly read all instructions, listed below, before completing your online registration. This is to insure that your application is submitted correctly and without error. Failure to do so can result in you having to start over from the beginning  to complete a new form.  

 I. Verify that you are eligible and prepared to register for the formal recruitment process.

In order to participate in sorority recruitment events at UNL, you must be a regularly enrolled female student, or plan to be a full-time student in good standing with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the time of recruitment. Those who have previously attended a college must have a 2.5 Cumulative GPA in order to be considered in good standing.  

Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment is for the 16 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities currently recognized at UNL. They are Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu, Pi Alpha Chi,  Pi Beta Phi, Theta Phi Alpha. Note:  Pi Alpha Chi will not fully participate in fall recruitment. The chapter will hold open recruitment events immediately following fall recruitment. Those who complete a primary (fall) recruitment application will not have to complete the open recruitment application in order to participate in their events.

In order to participate in fall Sorority Recruitment, you must pay the $100.00 registration fee at the time you complete your application. If you do not pay the registration fee at the time you submit your application, your application may not be saved, requiring you to resubmit all information. The registration fee covers the cost of your t-shirt, bag, water bottle, all print materials needed for recruitment, and select meals. For those who do not have a university meal plan, meal tickets will be provided, if it is a meal covered by the registration fee.  University dining facilities will begin serving meals on Thursday at 8:00 a.m.   

The registration fee is non-refundable. The fee will also be process through GreekBill. Please don't mark this charge as fraudulent, if you do so it will result in an additional $25 charge that will need to be paid to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to remain eligible for sorority recruitment. 

 II. Gathering all materials needed for registration

Once your submit your application, you will not be able to make any updates/edits.  Please have the following information on hand before you begin working on your applicaiton:

Personal Information

  1. NU ID
  2. Valid Email Address  
  3. ACT or SAT Score (You must enter one)
  4. FINAL High School Cumulative GPA (you may wait until you recieve your final GPA)
  5. List of all colleges previously attended and latest cumulative GPA (if applicable)
  6. Special Circumstance Information, which is outlined below.
  7. List of extracurricular activities, honors, community service, and work experience
  8. Sorority Legacy Information
  9. Payment Information for the $100.00 Registration Fee

 Special Circumstance

 The Panhellenic Association is committed to helping women find their UNL sorority home.  Our goal is to provide a positive recruitment experience for all applicants.  Women who are considered a 'special circumstance', are women who are involved in a university sponsored activity which may conflict with the sorority recruitment schedule. Those activities include, but are not limited to: Varsity Athletics, Marching Band, William H. Thompson Scholars, Big Red Singers, etc. Work, family events, or other obligations are not considered special circumstances.

Women who have special circumstances (as defined above) will be given an adjusted schedule to ensure that they can participate in recruitment to the best of their ability. They will also be assigned a special circumstance recruitment guide who will assist them through the recruitment process. 

Please contact us (unlpanhellenic@gmail.com) if you have questions or are unsure if you are considered a special circumstance. The Vice President of Recruitment Management will follow up with all women who indicate on their application that they have special circumstances. If you do not indicate that you have special circumstances, it may be more difficult to accomoate your schedule.   

 III. Completing the Online Formal Recruitment Registration Form

 Step 1: Create an Account

Once you have clicked on the registration link, you will be asked to enter your email address and create a user account with a unique username and password. After entering this information you will be directed to step two. 

Important information regarding step one:

  1. Your username and password will not be saved unless you complete this form in its entirety and pay the registration fee in one sitting.
  2. You should submit a valid email address.  This will be the email used for all communication by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Panhellenic Association.
  3. Your username should be your last name, first initial, middle initial. (i.e. Smithjd).  If the username described is already taken please add a number, beginning at 1, until your username is accepted.
  4. Your password needs to be longer than three letters and is case sensitive. It is very important that you remember the password associated with your account as you will need it throughout the week to log in to view daily schedules and and priority rank chapters.  

 Step 2: Completing the online application

Please fill out all of the available fields. Failure to do so will reduce your chances of receiving careful consideration by each chapter. Required fields that are not completed will prevent your application from being successfully submitted. 

After all personal information has been submitted, you will be asked to input information regarding legacies. You will only be able to submit legacy information for the chapters present at UNL. Each chapter takes legacy information into consideration, but it will not guarantee you membership. If you believe that you are a legacy to a chapter, please review the chapter's legacy policy which should be located on their local or national website.

Before moving to step three, you will be asked to read a disclosure policy. You will need to accept these terms in order to complete your registration. 

Important information regarding step two:

  1. You must submit either your ACT or SAT score for you application to be considered complete, even though they are not listed as required questions. 
  2. It is important to represent yourself well and complete the activity/involvement fields. These are not required but it is strongly recommended that they are completed to the best of your ability. You will not be able to upload a resume, so it is important to be as thorough as possible.

 Step 3: Confirming your application is correct

Step three of the recruitment registration involves confirming that the information that you have provided on your application is correct. Once your registration is complete, an email will be sent to the email address you provided when creating your account. This email will serve as confirmation of your registration and indicates that your application was successfully completed. Please save this email as it will contain your username and password which you will need at a later date to access your recruitment account.

 IV. Important Reminders

  • Partial application submissions are not saved.  The entire application must be completed and the $100.00 registration fee paid at the same time.     
  • Letters of recommendation are not required. If letters of recommendation are secured they should be sent directly to the chapter. Letters sent to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will be discarded.
  • If you have questions about move-in, please contact University Housing directly. However, you do not need to notify University Housing that you will be moving in early, we will provide University Housing a list of all women participating in recruitment and they will notify you about early move-in. Your confirmation email will contain additional information regarding early move-in.  
  • Please note that the early move-in charge is $35. per night/$140. total and will be added to your next centralized billing statement.
