Registration for Primary Recruitment 2020 opens on June 1, 2020 at 9 AM CST and closes at 11:59 PM CST on August 14, 2020.

June 1, 2020 Update:

Primary Recruitment will take place within the first few weeks of the fall semester. We are working on a plan and will have more information to share in the next few weeks about the schedule. Women participating will no longer need to register for early move-in for the residence halls.

We are sure you have lots of questions. We are hosting live question and answer sessions twice a week to provide more information about the recruitment process. To register, please click here:

Application Instructions:

It is highly recommended that you thoroughly read all instructions, listed below, before completing your online registration. This is to ensure your application is submitted correctly and without error. Failure to do so can result in you having to start from the beginning and complete a new form.

 I. Verify that you are eligible and prepared to register for the Primary Recruitment process.

In order to participate in sorority recruitment events at UNL, you must be a fully matriculated female student or plan to be a full-time student in good standing with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at the time of primary recruitment. Those who have previously attended a college must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA in order to be considered in good standing.

There are 16 sororities that participate in primary recruitment. These chapters are Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Phi Mu, Pi Alpha Chi, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Alpha. More information about each of these chapters can be found here: https://www.unl.edu/greek/pha-sororities

In order to participate in primary recruitment, you must pay the registration fee at the time you complete your application. If you do not pay the registration fee at the time you submit your application, your application may not be saved, requiring you to resubmit all information.

The registration fee is non-refundable and will be processed through GreekBill. Please don't mark this charge as fraudulent. If you do so, it will result in an additional $25 charge that will need to be paid to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to remain eligible for sorority recruitment.

II. Gathering all materials needed for registration

Once you submit your application, you will NOT be able to make any updates/edits.  Please have the following information on hand before you begin working on your application:

  1. NU ID
  2. Valid Email Address
  3. ACT or SAT Score (You must enter one)
  4. FINAL High School Cumulative GPA (please wait until you receive your final GPA)
  5. List of all colleges previously attended and cumulative GPA (if applicable)
  6. List of extracurricular activities, honors, community service, and work experience
  7. Sorority Legacy Information
  8. Payment Information
  9. Special Circumstance Information (see below)

 Special Circumstance

The Panhellenic Association is committed to helping women find their home away from home.  Our goal is to provide a positive recruitment experience for all applicants.  Special circumstances include university-sponsored activities which may conflict with the sorority recruitment schedule. These activities include, but are not limited to: Classes, Varsity Athletics, Marching Band, William H. Thompson Scholars, Big Red Singers, etc. Work, family events, or other obligations do not qualify.

Women who have special circumstances (as defined above) will be given an adjusted schedule to ensure that they can participate in recruitment to the best of their ability. The adjusted schedule will not affect the likelihood of getting into a chapter.

Please contact us (unlspecialcirc@gmail.com) if you have questions or are unsure if you have a special circumstance. The Vice President of Risk Management, Abbie Rehurek, will follow up with all women who indicate on their application that they have special circumstances. If you do not indicate that you have special circumstances, it may be more difficult to accommodate your schedule.

III. Completing the Online Formal Recruitment Registration Form

 Step 1: Create an Account

Once you have clicked on the registration link, you will be asked to enter your email address and create a user account with a unique username and password. After entering this information you will be directed to step two.

Important information regarding step one:

  1. Your username and password will NOT be saved unless you complete this form in its entirety and pay the registration fee in one sitting.
  2. You should submit a valid email address.  This will be the email used for all communication by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Panhellenic Association.
  3. Your username should be your last name, first initial, middle initial. (i.e. Smithjd).  If the username described is already taken please add a number, beginning at 1, until your username is accepted.
  4. Your password needs to be longer than three letters and is case sensitive. It is very important that you remember the password associated with your account as you will need it throughout the week to log in to view daily schedules and priority rank chapters.

Step 2: Completing the online application

Please fill out all of the available fields. Failure to do so will reduce your chances of receiving careful consideration by each chapter. Required fields that are not completed will prevent your application from being successfully submitted.

After all personal information has been submitted, you will be asked to input information regarding legacies. You will only be able to submit legacy information for UNL chapters. Each chapter takes legacy information into consideration, but it will not guarantee you membership. If you believe that you are a legacy to a chapter, please review the chapter's legacy policy located on their local or national website.

Before moving to step three, you will be asked to read the disclosure policy. You will need to accept these terms in order to complete your registration.

Important information regarding step two:

  1. You must submit either your ACT or SAT score for your application to be considered complete. If you did not take one of these tests please put "N/A" in the box provided.
  2. The activity/involvement fields are not required but it is strongly recommended that they are completed to the best of your ability. You will not be able to upload a resume, so it is important to be as thorough as possible.

Step 3: Confirming your application is correct

You will confirm that all information is correct in Step three. Once your registration is complete, an email will be sent to the email address you provided when creating your account. This email will serve as confirmation of your registration and indicates that your application was successfully completed. Please save this email as it will contain your username and password which you will need at a later date to access your recruitment account.

IV. Important Reminders

  • Partial application submissions are NOT saved.  The entire application must be completed and the registration fee paid at the same time.
  • Letters of recommendation are not required. If letters of recommendation are secured, they should be sent directly to the chapter.
